The much anticipated Katharine Pooley pop-up collaboration with Turnell & Gigon at the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, ‘The Gatsby Suite’, was unveiled during London Design Week this March. The vitality, unapologetic opulence and positive energy of the Art Deco period is infectious, which is the reason why I drew inspiration from this era, and particularly the work of F. The Art of Deco

 
This spring I am delighted to draw on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic masterpiece ‘The Great Gatsby’ as inspiration for my Pop-Up, ‘The Gatsby Suite’, for Turnell & Gigon at Home. It is launching at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour on Sunday 10th March 2019 during London Design Week 2019. It is impossible in my mind not to love the clean lines and timeless elegance of the Art Deco period. I adore the combination of luxurious materials, exquisite craftsmanship and crisp modernist form synonymous with this time. Colour Trend 2019

 
For 2019 I envisage something warmer and more feminine on my walls. I love to use a tiny dash of very soft dusky pink to warm up expanses of taupe or neutrals – this staircase in Doha had hand applied plaster on the walls so it was easy to introduce the merest hint of colour. It looks particularly appealing with rose gold and bronze tones and balanced with crystal and white marble as achieved on this staircase designed and installed by my team. Continue to read more
