Katharine Pooley champions a number of initiatives that improve communities and enhance lives. She uses her experience and expertise in architecture and design to support a wide range of projects benefiting children, families and local organisations, creating positive impact with an ongoing commitment to social responsibility.
THE CHILDHOOD TRUST
Katharine Pooley has been an ambassador for The Childhood Trust for eight years, supporting the Transforming Spaces programme. This initiative refurbishes disadvantaged children’s bedrooms, youth clubs and community centres, creating safe environments where children can sleep, learn, play and grow, improving their daily lives and overall wellbeing.
The British Forces Foundation
Katharine is honoured to be on the Board of Trustees for The British Forces Foundation. The British Forces Foundation works to boost and maintain the morale of the men and women of our Armed Forces, through innovative programmes designed to demonstrate public support for the work they do and the sacrifices they are prepared to make.
CAMPAIGN FOR WOOL
Katharine is an ambassador for the Campaign for Wool, ensuring that the studio uses as many natural-fibre textiles as possible across its projects. This commitment helps preserve a rich heritage of craftsmanship while supporting the wool industry within contemporary interior design. Katharine also continues to seek collaborations with wool mills and promotes Wool Month each October.
United in Design
Katharine Pooley is a steering committee for United in Design – an organization driven by a clear need to deliver an equal opportunity pathway for entry into the Interior Design Industry for people from black, Asian, ethnic minority and socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
