Description
This gorgeous textile artwork was inspired by Victorian shell mosaics from the Caribbean known as ’Sailor’s Valentines’ supposedly made by sailors for their sweet hearts back home to while away the hundreds of hours out at sea. Handcrafted by leading British textile artist Aiveen Daly, she began the designs with with hand drawn sketches of shells and ocean flora. The material is novasuede and there are hundreds of hand cut components in each piece centered around a raised embroidered stem. Painted studs frame each piece depicting sea pearls.
Please note there are three variations available, all similar but differing slightly.
