Discovery Bay Hong Kong

Inspired by the beautiful natural surroundings of Hong Kong’s Discovery Bay, Katharine Pooley’s interior design for this impressive, 6,399 sqft private residence uses natural elements and tones to create a fresh, light and contemporary scheme inspired by the shades of the sand and ocean, as well as the warm amber of the sunsets. Formal areas are enriched with modern furniture and extravagances that impress, including ornate brocade fabrics and a bespoke rock crystal chandelier. Abstracted images of rocks and cliff formations create a sublime wallpaper for the living room, whilst the fireplace combines the powder of precious stone with metals and resins. For decorative inspiration, Katharine looked to the places and materials she enjoyed the most while living in Asia, resulting in a richly layered, remarkable design, studded with unusual bespoke pieces; the epitome of a luxurious holiday escape.
