Across our team, there is a palpable sense of energy and anticipation as our season of launches and collaborations begins to unfold.
There is plenty of news to share from the past month but I am especially delighted to share the launch of our very first magazine. For some time I have wanted a space where we can go beyond interiors and invite you more deeply into our world. Working closely with my Chief Marketing Officer Amy, we have created the first edition of ‘Beyond Interiors.’ It is a celebration of inspiration and innovation, but also of storytelling: the narratives behind our projects, the craftsmanship behind each detail and the people who bring it all together.
Within the pages you will discover unseen imagery from our portfolio, thoughtful industry insights, and the perspectives that shape how we approach design today. We have also included touches of lifestyle that reflects our global approach and the way we live and travel. I very much hope you will follow along as we reveal more over the coming weeks.
The past few weeks have also offered a wonderful opportunity to celebrate design in a very different setting as we headed to Milan to celebrate Design Week. A true meeting of minds, materials and traditions, we had not one, but two launches with European ateliers –
THG Paris and Pinetti.
The British Isles Collection with Italian leather workshop Pinetti draws on a shared appreciation for craftsmanship and heritage, blending Italian expertise with British design sensibility. Inspired by traditional weaving and the sculptural forms of dry-stone walls, each piece is designed to feel enduring yet refined.
We also unveiled a collaboration that has been years in the making – the Marcel Collection with THG Paris. This was an endeavour that was a shared exploration of what defines luxury today. Spearheaded by our Interior Architect Pablo Rimoldi, we sought to distil architectural clarity and material honesty into a series of sculptural forms, with inspiration drawn from early modernist ideals – particularly the work of Marcel Breuer – and reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.
Designing the accompanying showroom in Milan allowed us to extend this philosophy into space, and it was a wonderful time celebrating the launch in the space.
Following this, we spent the weekend in Monaco for the Historic Grand Prix – an extraordinary event that captures the elegance and exhilaration of motorsport at its most timeless. We experienced it from the Burgess balcony, which our Marine Design team had the pleasure of curating this year. Bespoke ropework screens and beautifully crafted textiles and furniture contributed to a setting that felt both considered and effortless. My sincere thanks go to everyone involved, and of course to the Burgess team for their generous hospitality. We are already looking ahead to returning to Monaco in June!
Closer to home, I wanted to take a moment to revisit a collaboration that remains particularly dear to me. ‘An English Butterfly Garden,’ created with Fromental, began as a deeply personal expression – inspired by my own garden at the Coach House in Oxfordshire and the delicate beauty of the British landscape. It was imperative that the design captured not only the visual poetry of flora and fauna, but also a sense of quiet movement and life. Since its launch the collection has continued to evolve. What began with two colourways has grown into a broader palette. I am now thrilled to introduce ‘Duck Egg Bloom,’ a tone that feels fresh and timeless, with a softness that evokes early morning light and the stillness of a garden just waking. Equally important is the purpose behind it. With every piece sold, a contribution is made to support the conservation of endangered British butterflies and their habitats.
In our year of collaboration I am reminded that design is, at its heart, a journey we take together. It is shaped by ideas, by partnerships and by a constant curiosity about how we live and how we might live better. This season feels like a celebration of that journey. There is so much more to come, and I look forward to sharing it with you.
