Inspired by the property’s illustrious past, Katharine Pooley designed the interior and architectural design of this 40,000 sq ft majestic, stucco-fronted private home overlooking London’s leafy Hyde park. Previously an important ambassador’s residence, the property was purchased by an existing client for full renovation of its dilapidated, historic mouldings, marble staircases and parquet and marble flooring. Drawing on the building’s rich heritage, this is one of Katharine’s most highly detailed and opulent interior designs yet, with every facet of this jewel of a property reinstated, refurbished or created anew, making it the epitomy of luxury London interior design. Moreover, Katharine’s team of interior architects, interior designers, furniture designers and home dressing experts created a full ‘turn key’ design in less than six months; an impressive feat given its size.
