One of my all time favourite colours to design with has to be emerald green. I once panelled an entire guest bedroom suite in verdant green, silk-velvet, the ‘jewel in the crown’ of a classical English country estate. It looked glorious, rich and very sensual. This season, I am inspired again to create a new winter edit of must-have accessories in deep green, bronze, black and gold, to bring warmth and depth to your interior.
With its vivid green hue, Malachite is Katharine’s favourite, semi-precious, stone finish this winter. The Katharine Pooley Malachite Frame is handcrafted in 24K gold and features exquisite polished Malachite to perfectly frame your photograph, whilst the Scarab Disk features a circular display of iridescent, metallic Jewel beetle shields.
A recent games room I created in London, with accents of Malachite and gold, was particularly striking; the detailing to the bespoke joinery, created in collaboration with luxury joiners, Interiors ID and games tables is exquisite and beautifully crafted. The room features artwork by Based Upon and an incredible, bespoke, billiards table by Sir William Bentley Billiards.
The statement bar was a labour of love, featuring mirror panel feature bar was a labour of love, it featured mirror panelling, polished Malachite slabs by the incredible Fameed Khalique, gorgeous, bespoke hanging lights, in faceted crystal and lots of beautiful cocktail making accessories from my boutique. For a young client who likes spending time with family and friends, this subterranean bar is the ultimate in relaxation.
Silverlining bespoke furniture makers made the games table for us; their workshop is renowned for its incredible attention to detail. The poker set by Alexandra Llwellyn, was made to my detailed design brief depicting the client’s car in exquisite marquetry detailing; a truly personal and unique touch I hope he will treasure always.
This exquisite sculpture is hand-carved from luxurious, Portoro marble, embellished with gold leaf. The Katharine Pooley Classic Shagreen Frame is handcrafted in polished nickel and features an exquisite, grey shagreen border to perfectly frame your photograph.
